China claims to have already reached its 2030 clean energy goal

China has reached its clean energy goal six years ahead of schedule. The country now has 1,206 gigawatts of clean energy sources, thanks to 25 gigawatts of turbines and panels added last month. China is the world's biggest polluter, but it is spending more on clean energy than any other country. Solar and wind have generated 14 percent of the country's energy in 2024.
