Personalized nutrition (PN) is a customized approach to health outcomes that combines biomedical, genetic, and lifestyle data to provide individualized recommendations. The field is becoming increasingly complex, and there is a need for guidelines and best practices. Two recent journal articles published by the Personalized Nutrition Initiative at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign outline a set of guiding principles for PN approaches and address the opportunities and challenges around data and regulatory issues.
