Scientists discovered a mysterious golden orb in the deep ocean off the coast of Alaska in 2023. After extensive examination and DNA testing, the orb, initially thought to be alien, was identified as the remnants of a deep-sea anemone. The object, found during an expedition by the NOAA ship Okeanos Explorer, was collected and sent to the Smithsonian for further study. Genetic analysis revealed the orb shared similarities with the deep-sea anemone species Relicanthus daphneae.
