- •Destro announced an $8 million seed round led by Base10 Partners and Bonfire Ventures, with additional investment from CoFound Partners.
- •The startup uses a Vision operating system based on open-weight vision-language-action models and a Mothership operating system that orchestrates the broader workflow.
- •Its early deployment at Yusen Logistics focuses on cross-docking, where goods are unloaded from one truck and sorted into mixed loads for other trucks.
- •Yusen said competing robot startups could not fit its workflow because one only moved carts and another still required human orchestration.
- •Destro is scaling from a pilot with three robots to a full 26-robot deployment and a separate 17-robot pilot in Southern California.
Destro has emerged from stealth with an $8 million seed round to sell an AI software layer for logistics operations rather than build its own robots. The company’s system coordinates robots, carts, trucks, and human workers in cross-dock warehouse workflows, with Yusen Logistics as an early customer. Yusen said Destro succeeded where other robotics vendors fell short because it orchestrated the full process instead of only moving carts or leaving humans to manage the workflow. Destro is now expanding from an initial pilot to a 26-robot deployment and a second 17-robot pilot while betting it can replicate the model across many warehouses.
