ispace, a Japanese space company, is attempting to land its Resilience lander on the moon, which would be the second successful private landing this year and the third ever. The mission, launching on January 15th, took a longer route to the moon, traveling beyond and then returning to enter lunar orbit on May 6th. The lander is carrying experiments and a rover, named Tenacious, for exploring the lunar surface during a planned two-week mission. This is ispace's second attempt at landing on the moon after its first spacecraft crashed.
