This prolific region has fired off at least 18 M-class and three X-class flares within 24 hours, causing radio blackouts and disrupting Earth's atmosphere. Scientists are monitoring for potential coronal mass ejections (CMEs) that could impact Earth, with a glancing blow possible around February 5th. Further eruptions are expected as the sunspot continues to rotate towards Earth, potentially increasing geomagnetic activity and aurora visibility.
