NASA's X-59 supersonic jet is undergoing ground testing at Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works facility in Palmdale, California. The jet is designed to break the sound barrier without producing the thunderous sonic booms typically associated with faster-than-sound flight. The X-59 will undergo flight testing later this year.
