Astronomers at the European Space Agency (ESA) developed an AI, called AnomalyMatch, that scans space images for anomalies, surpassing human capabilities. In a short time, the AI analyzed millions of Hubble images, identifying 1,400 anomalous objects. The AI's discoveries, including merging galaxies, gravitational lenses, and other unique celestial phenomena, greatly enhanced the scientific output of the Hubble archive. Over 800 of the confirmed anomalies were previously undocumented, highlighting the AI's significant contribution to astronomical research.
